Caravaggio · The Immersive Gallery

Privacy

Caravaggio is an online gallery with no accounts, no cookies and no analytics or advertising. This page explains the little data that passes when you visit it, where it goes and why.

Who is responsible

Andrea Iannarone. For any question about this page or your data, write to hello@andreaiannarone.com.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States). Like any server, it keeps the technical details of each request for a limited time: IP address, browser, page requested, date and time. They are needed to deliver the pages and to protect the site from abuse. The transfer to the United States is covered by the safeguards the GDPR requires, set out in Vercel’s data processing agreement.

Typefaces, images and recordings are all served from this site itself: your browser contacts no other server to show them.

The guide

The written answers to the suggested questions are part of the site: choosing one sends nothing.

Questions you type yourself, with the others in the same conversation, go through our server to Google Gemini, the model that writes the answer. We do not keep them. Google handles them under the Gemini service terms, which for the free service allow it to use them to improve its products: do not put personal information in your questions.

To limit abuse, the server counts questions per IP address. The count stays in its memory only and is not stored anywhere else; an hour after your last question it is deleted with the next request the server receives, or sooner, when the server shuts down.

Audio guide

The audio guide’s recordings are synthetic voices, made with ElevenLabs before publication and served from this site like the images. Listening to them sends nothing to ElevenLabs or anyone else.

Preferences

Your browser keeps (localStorage) the language and quality you choose, whether you came in with sound and whether the audio guide is on, so they are there on your next visit. They never leave your device, and you can remove them by clearing the site’s data in your browser.

Links to other sites

Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and the other sites linked from here have their own privacy rules.

Legal basis and your rights

This processing rests on the legitimate interest in running the site and the guide and keeping them safe (GDPR, Article 6(1)(f)).

You can ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, or restriction of its processing, or object to it, by writing to hello@andreaiannarone.com. We do not, however, keep any data that identifies you. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
